Hello farmers,
With the 0-OS team we have started to gather a compatibility list for all the hardware we encounter.
If you want to contribute and help us, please let us know what type of server you are using and what has been your experience with it.
The process to add a server to the list is the following:
- Check if your server model is not already present in the list at https://github.com/threefoldtech/zos/blob/master/docs/compatibility/readme.md
- If it is not, open a new issue at https://github.com/threefoldtech/zos/issues/new and reuse the template provided at the end of this thread.
- Fill the template with your information
- Title the issue
Compatibility update request: <server mode>
- Submit the issue
A team member will then process the issue and add your server to the list.
Here is the issue template to use:
## Hardware compatibility document update request
- Vendor : (server vendor)
- Model name : (sever model)
- Support quality (check one):
- [ ] âś… fully supported
- [ ] ⚠️ supported with some tweaking
- [ ] 🛑 not supported
- Workarounds: (write down any special step you had to take to make it work)
- Remarks: (any extra remark worth mentioning)
Example of an valid issue:
Title: Compatibility update request: SYS-5038ML-H8TRF
- Vendor : Supermicro
- Model name : SYS-5038ML-H8TRF
- Support quality (check one):
- [ ] âś… fully supported
- [x] ⚠️ supported with some tweaking
- [ ] 🛑 not supported
- Workarounds: raid controller needed to be put in JBOD mode
